Vineyard, olive groves and meadows of the Domain of Christin

The Domain’s vineyard

Several grape varieties make up the 18 hectares of the Domain of Christin vineyard: syrah, grenache, merlot, mourvedre, nielluccho, carignan, vermentino, viognier and cinsault.
Young planters and old vines constitute the various plots.
The vine lives to the rhythm of the seasons: the work is numerous, from pruning in winter to the harvest in September.
If you are interested in the stages of viticulture and this profession as close as possible to the cycles of nature, contact us to participate in a session of our Educational Farm!

Olive groves to produce extra virgin olive oil

The variety grown on the olive plots of the Domaine de Christin is Picholine, a variety originating from the Gard.
Picholine is used as a green table olive or cocktail olive (harvested in September), it is also used to produce olive oil (harvested in December – January): very fruity and green, this oil has a very slight bitterness.
Even more than organic, our small production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sold directly at Domain of Christin, in 50cl bottles ready to self-offer or to offer, while stocks last.

The meadows of the Domain

The many fallow plots (vine plants uprooted in the past) of the 2014 Domaine de Christin have been cleaned, worked, and sown to allow the production of quality grass.
The meadows are thus grazed by our horses, and the surplus is transformed into hay at the end of spring, in order to feed the animals of the Domain in winter.
